A mothers's journey of faith, heritage and handmade design

Two years ago, I stepped into a new country with faith in God, hope in my heart, and a handful of ideas.

I didn’t have a studio. I didn’t have a sewing background. I didn’t even have steady income.

But what I had was determination, deep cultural roots, a supportive husband and a dream that refused to let go of me.

Mens shirt, Mens kaftan with pants, handwoven Kente, women's palazzo pants, kente bustier, cropped linen jacket, afro hair, husband and wife and child

I learned how to sew and sketch digitally and in just 18 months, I made over 70 custom pieces including a wedding dress.

All while pregnant. Then nursing. Then chasing a baby between seams.

All while living through Hurricane Helene and the aftermaths.

All while trusting that the small steps I was taking would one day become something bigger.

That “something” is FIAVI.

A Brand Born in the Quiet Hours

ree

FIAVI means child of a royal in Ewe, one of the languages spoken in Ghana and Togo. It’s more than a name, it’s an identity. A call to remember our worth, our story, and our strength.

My husband and I are building this brand together, not from wealth, but hope in God. From resilience. From late-night feedings and daily prayers.

FIAVI is the result of holding on to your calling through every challenge and choosing to create beauty amidst the storm.

Introducing: The Faith Collection

Our first collection, The Faith Collection, is a tribute to everything this journey has taught me: that peace, freedom, success, strength, and purpose aren’t just words. They’re values you can wear.

Each garment is named in Ewe or Twi—a reflection of the languages and cultures that raised me.

Each piece is made to order with heart, intention, and meaning. We work with high-quality natural fabrics like breathable linen blends and richly handwoven Kente cloth sourced directly from artisans in Ghana. These materials are more than fabric; they are vessels of culture, history, and generational artistry.

Ablorde Kimono – Freedom

Ablorde means freedom in Ewe.

This wrap kimono flows with intention featuring bishop sleeves, practical pockets, and a detachable Kente belt finished with a gold-plated Nkrabea buckle.

It’s made for the woman who walks in freedom and purpose.

Ŋusẽ Midi Dress– Strength

Ŋusẽ (Noon-séh) means strength in Ewe.

This midi dress balances structure and softness with a sculpted basque waist, gentle gathers, and puff sleeves. Kente accents, woven in Ghana add meaning and artistry to every stitch.

Designed to reflect strength that doesn’t shout, but stands firm. Because beauty and power were never meant to be separate.

Edzedzinam Set – I Am Successful

Edzedzinam (E-je-ji-nam) means “I am successful.”

This three-piece set makes a bold yet refined statement: a structured cropped jacket, a Kente-trimmed bustier, and flowing palazzo pants with functional pockets. Each piece also stands beautifully on its own offering endless styling possibilities from elevated workwear to effortless weekend chic.

Fafa Maxi Dress - Peace

Fafa means peace in Ewe, an inner calm that moves with grace.

This flowing maxi dress features a center pleat that reveals a bold flash of Kente with every step. Cocoon sleeves and Kente-trimmed details at the neckline add softness and edge, while a concealed zipper ensures a smooth fit.

The Fafa Dress is peace, worn beautifully.

Dorla Set - Angel

Dorla means angel in Ewe—a reflection of grace, poise, and quiet strength.

This two-piece set pairs a sculptural top with wing-like detailing and subtle Kente trim near the neckline, a quiet nod to heritage close to the heart. The wide-legged palazzo pants offer fluid movement, understated elegance, and the comfort of discreet side pockets.

Perfect for intimate dinners, cultural gatherings, or any moment that calls for serene presence, the Dorla Set is for the woman who brings light wherever she goes.

Nkrabea Belt - Destiny

Nkrabea means destiny in Twi and is inspired by the Adinkra symbol that bears the same name representing purpose and divine calling.

This statement belt features handwoven Kente and a bold gold-plated buckle engraved with the Nkrabea symbol. Rooted in Ghanaian wisdom and artistry, it’s a wearable reminder that your journey is uniquely yours.

Style it with a dress, kimono, or layered over separates—wherever it goes, it brings beauty, structure, and meaning.

Wear the Story. Walk in the Message.

I didn’t build FIAVI because everything was perfect.

I built it because something beautiful was possible.

And now, I invite you to wear that beauty—freely, boldly, intentionally.
